GRUNGEzhou UNIVERSE
THE UNIVERSE

Reginald Blue

A blue horse. Plain blue — no markings, no patterns, nothing on the blue. Hooves, never hands. An intellect too vast for his equine frame, and zero patience for yours.

He is the primary narrator of GrungeZhou: chronicler, Greek chorus, fourth-wall breaker. He addresses the author directly. He conjures popcorn from nowhere. He stops chewing the apple exactly once, and it's the heaviest page in the book.

Voice

Scholarly cynicism with gutter range — Nietzsche references in one breath, sports-announcer battle commentary in the next, Samuel L. Jackson and Basquiat sampled as worldbuilding. Combat-capable when it counts: he once carried a "godkiller" six-shooter into a fight with Titans and volunteered as the distraction.

"Legends aren't born, kid. They're carved out of scars."

What he isn't telling you (yet)

Reginald is an alien, banished from his home planet and turned into a horse so his true form wouldn't be noticed on Earth. He came looking for a human child — Ichiban — to fulfill a prophecy his mother vaguely alluded to, and was tasked with keeping an eye on him once he found him. Another alien, Emu, is on the way to tell him he can return home. Emu landed in the wrong part of the timeline.

The spinoff that circles back to all of this is coming.
